Job description :

GRAME is seeking an Urban Agriculture and Biodiversity Project Coordinator to manage environmental initiatives in Lachine and surrounding areas. The role combines project management, field coordination, team supervision and stakeholder engagement.

Specific Working Conditions:

  • Recurring seasonal contract
  • Schedule: 20 to 35 hours/week depending on season
  • Includes evenings and weekends
  • Start date: June 25 (flexible onboarding)
  • Hybrid and field-based work
  • Salary: $22.38 to $30.78/hour
Responsibilities :

Project management

  • Lead urban agriculture and biodiversity projects
  • Plan budgets and ensure reporting
  • Contribute to action plans and annual reports

Field coordination

  • Oversee community gardens
  • Organize and deliver activities and events
  • Supervise staff and volunteers
  • Manage tools and materials

Partnerships and development

  • Maintain relationships with partners
  • Participate in committees and working groups
  • Support communications and outreach efforts

Program delivery

  • Manage initiatives such as Défi Fleuri and seed libraries
  • Facilitate internal collaboration
  • Support fundraising activities
Candidate profile :
  • Minimum 1 year of project management experience
  • Degree in biology, horticulture or related field
  • Intermediate English
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 5)
  • Strong autonomy and initiative
  • Team leadership and facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of urban agriculture and landscaping
  • Ability to communicate environmental concepts clearly

Assets

  • Knowledge of arboriculture or landscaping
  • Experience with native flora and fauna
  • Proficiency with digital tools (Google Suite, Office, Canva)
  • Strong communication skills
