Job description :

GRAME is looking for motivated Tree Planting Crew Members to support urban greening and biodiversity projects throughout the Greater Montreal area. This role offers the opportunity to work outdoors while making a tangible environmental impact.

Specific Working Conditions:

  • Recurring seasonal position
  • Full‑time or part‑time schedule
  • Salary: $20.00 to $22.41/hour
  • Start date: Mid‑April (weather dependent)
  • Outdoor work environment
  • Occasional evening or weekend work (2–3 times per season)
  • Work sites throughout Greater Montreal’s West End
Responsibilities :
  • Plant trees, shrubs and perennial plants
  • Prepare planting sites and clean up after work is completed
  • Transport and handle plant materials safely
  • Maintain existing planting sites (mulching, pruning, weeding, plant replacement)
  • Adjust tree stakes and collect field data
  • Support nursery operations as required
  • Maintain tools, equipment and vehicles
  • Occasionally assist with volunteer activities
  • Participate in team meetings
  • Follow health and safety procedures
  • Perform other related environmental and planting duties
Candidate profile :
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive and respectful approach with colleagues, volunteers and citizens
  • Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
  • Ability to lift approximately 40 lbs (18 kg)
  • Interest in horticulture, arboriculture or environmental work
  • Reliable, organized and motivated

Assets

  • Knowledge of horticulture, forestry or landscaping
  • First aid certification
  • Basic English skills
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Experience operating vehicles with trailers
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace tools
