Mold Preparation Technician

Job description :

The Polyurethane Pouring Machine Operator is responsible for mold preparation, operating pouring equipment and producing high‑quality polyurethane parts. This hands‑on role is critical to ensuring consistency, precision and product quality.

Responsibilities :

Machine operation

  • Operate pouring and dispensing machines
  • Set parameters (temperature, mix ratios, flow rates)
  • Monitor pouring process
  • Perform basic troubleshooting

Mold preparation

  • Prepare molds (cleaning, assembling, sealing)
  • Inspect molds for defects
  • Install inserts and reinforcements
  • Safely demold finished parts

Quality control

  • Inspect parts for defects
  • Measure dimensions using tools
  • Document production and quality data

Shop duties

  • Weigh and mix materials
  • Maintain clean workspace
  • Follow chemical handling procedures
  • Support general production tasks

Health & safety

  • Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Comply with WHMIS and safety standards
  • Report hazards and incidents
Candidate profile :
  • Manufacturing or industrial experience
  • Mechanical aptitude and manual skills
  • Ability to follow technical instructions
  • Comfortable working with chemicals
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Polyurethane or molding experience (asset)
  • Forklift experience (asset)
  • Reliable, detail‑oriented and team‑oriented
