Job description :

The SHE Specialist supports the SHE Manager in evaluating health, safety, and environmental needs and risks.

The role works closely with the SHE Coordinator and is responsible for coordinating site health, safety, and environmental activities while contributing to program development and audits.

Specific Working Conditions

  • Full-time position
  • Evening shift
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • On-site position in Baie-d'Urfé
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities :
  • Participate in the development of objectives and action plans.
  • Contribute to drafting and revising SHE management system procedures.
  • Conduct and monitor audits and performance indicators.
  • Report identified deviations.
  • Participate in incident and accident investigations.
  • Evaluate SHE risks related to new processes.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective actions.
  • Assess SHE risks during the purchase and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Develop SHE training plans in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Prepare dashboards and SHE performance indicators.
  • Maintain workplace health and safety programs.
  • Identify existing and emerging SHE risks.
  • Coordinate occupational health and safety committee activities and emergency responders.
  • Ensure implementation of safety rules and procedures across operational departments.
  • Prepare safety communications and reports.
  • Support managers and supervisors with safety compliance and team training.
  • Participate in SHE assessments and corrective action plans.
  • Assist with industrial site safety operations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of industrial hygiene and development plans.
Candidate profile :
  • Postsecondary education in Health and Safety, Human Resources, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environment, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Quebec laws, standards, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Strong adaptability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to lead meetings and training sessions.
  • Leadership and autonomy.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and observation skills.
  • Ability to manage unexpected situations and adapt to change.
  • French proficiency required.
  • Bilingualism considered an asset.
