Founded in 1978, the West Island Chamber of Commerce (CCOIM) is a non‑profit organization dedicated to representing and supporting the industrial, commercial and professional business community across three boroughs and eight municipalities.

Job description :

Reporting to management, the Communications and Social Media Coordinator supports the planning and execution of the organization’s communication strategies. The role ensures a consistent, professional and engaging presence across all platforms while actively promoting the Chamber’s initiatives and members.

Specific Working Conditions:

  • Permanent full‑time position (35 hours/week)
  • Monday to Friday schedule
  • Occasional evening availability for events
  • Remote work every Friday (half‑day)
  • Flexible schedule supporting work‑life balance
  • Travel required (valid driver’s license and vehicle)
Responsibilities :
  • Plan, write and publish multi‑platform content
  • Manage social media channels and community engagement
  • Create visuals and content for events and initiatives
  • Coordinate event coverage and real‑time content
  • Draft and distribute press releases
  • Maintain communication tools in French and English
  • Produce and analyze performance reports
  • Support members with visibility opportunities
  • Monitor partnership visibility commitments
  • Participate in committees and support volunteers

  • Contribute to the development and optimization of communication strategies
  • Plan and manage the editorial calendar
  • Monitor trends in communications and social media
  • Participate in the development of the annual communication plan
  • Analyze performance and propose improvement initiatives
  • Develop member engagement and retention strategies
Candidate profile :
  • University degree in communications, marketing, business or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent written and spoken French and English
  • Strong writing and content simplification skills
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and tools
  • Content creation skills (text, visual, short video)
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical skills
  • Autonomous, organized and proactive
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Professionalism, discretion and sound judgment
