Job description

We are looking for a specialized educator for a permanent full-time position (40 hours/week) in our prosthetic units. These units welcome residents with cognitive deficits and behaviors requiring sustained intervention. The role involves creating a climate of trust and offering adapted activities to promote integration and stimulation.

Responsibilities

  • Observe, analyze and transmit relevant information to the team.
  • Record comments in electronic files (SYMO).
  • Identify physical and cognitive limitations to adapt activities.
  • Lead individual or group activities (art, music, games, physical activity).
  • Working with family and friends to enrich residents’ life stories.
  • Develop approaches and tools adapted to specific needs.
  • Maintain a dynamic of stimulating socialization in care units.
  • Work closely with the recreation therapist, families and staff.

Profile required

  • Diploma of Collegial Studies in Special Education Techniques.
  • Relevant experience working with the frail elderly.
  • Patience, vigilance and observation skills.
  • Easy to build trust and communicate.
  • Analytical skills, initiative and creativity.
  • Organizational skills to plan and lead activities.
  • Strong team spirit.
