Job Description :
As Production Manager, you will supervise manufacturing operations, manage employees and ensure that production meets deadlines and quality standards. You will also be in charge of planning, implementing policies and procedures for the production department, and promoting continuous improvement.
Responsibilities :
- Assume responsibility for the development and implementation of effective production department planning, policies and procedures.
- Participate in the development of short- and long-term objectives in collaboration with management, providing suggestions and recommendations.
- Implement policies that support the company’s strategic objectives and ensure they are kept up to date with changes in production and quality standards.
- Supervise production and assembly processes, including product inspection and shipping.
- Monitor production quality and product inspections.
- Quickly identify production problems and find effective solutions.
- Regulate workflow to ensure maximum production capacity.
- Ensure that all production functions comply with production, safety and quality standards.
- Supervise and direct assigned staff, ensuring optimum performance, with effective management of objectives, delegation and communication.
- Train, advise and coach employees on current production methods.
- Carry out staff performance evaluations and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Work closely with purchasing and engineering departments to maintain schedules and implement revisions to operating procedures.
- Ensures good coordination and communication with the various departments and the maintenance of working relationships within the company.
- Ensure that health, safety and environmental rules are respected and applied effectively.
Qualifications :
- Minimum university degree or equivalent. Additional training in manufacturing is an asset.
- At least 3 to 4 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, e-mail and an ERP system.
- Organize and manage time effectively.
- Ensuring and guiding quality, and proactively resolving problems.
- Understand and apply production procedures, standards and quality control systems.
