Job Description :

The Director of Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs is responsible for defining and overseeing the organization’s public voice, strategic positioning and institutional influence. The position covers five complementary areas: Marketing, Communications,
Advertising, Public Affairs, Leadership and Strategic Collaboration.
The Director ensures the consistency and quality of the organization’s communications, while guiding the Communications and Visitor Experience teams towards concrete results.

Responsibilities :

Marketing

  • Develop and implement the annual marketing strategy.
  • Strengthen the organization’s positioning in the tourism, culture, education and conservation sectors.
  • Oversee digital marketing (SEO/SEM, paid campaigns, analytics) and online ticketing.
  • Ensure brand integrity and the creation of promotional content.
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships and visibility.

Communications

  • Define and support the corporate narrative with clear, consistent messages.
  • Oversee the production of official communications: press releases, newsletters, annual reports, signage, donor documents.
  • Maintain transparent and effective internal communications.

Advertising and Media Relations

  • Maintain relationships with journalists, media and content creators.
  • Act as a resource person and media spokesperson.
  • Lead community management and digital engagement across all platforms.
  • Participate in the promotion and organization of public events and seasonal programs.

Public affairs

  • Support relations with municipal, provincial and federal authorities.
  • Participate in the drafting of briefs, position papers and grant applications.
  • Monitor policies affecting conservation, education and zoos.
  • Represent the organization in industry networks.

Leadership and collaboration

  • Manage and mobilize the Communications and Visitor Experience teams.
  • Supervise and support the Visitor Experience Coordinator in managing customer service.
  • Promote integration and coherence between departments.
  • Actively participate in strategic direction and philanthropy.
  • Promote the values of professionalism, integrity and commitment to the mission.

Profile required:

  • University degree in marketing, communications, public relations, administration or similar field.
  • 3 to 5 years’ progressive experience in marketing, communications, public affairs or related fields.
  • Experience in supervising and managing interdisciplinary projects.
  • Mastery of digital tools, CMS, ticketing platforms and analysis tools.
  • Experience in media relations, public communications and narrative development.
  • Knowledge of grant writing and experience in tourism, culture, education or the environment is an asset.
  • Available to work evenings or weekends during events.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
  • Collaborative leadership and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking, analytical judgment and the ability to anticipate issues.
  • Autonomy, initiative and adaptability.
