Job description :
Field Service Engineers play a vital role in the success of the resource revolution here at TOMRA. They are responsible for providing high-quality service to ensure optimal machine performance and an excellent customer experience. We are looking for a Field Service Engineer based locally in our Charlotte, NC office to support customers in North America.
Responsibilities:
- Field service operations (60%) – Perform commissioning, testing, integration, optimization, maintenance and repair throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
- Technical support and consultation (20%) – Provide expert consultation on customers’ plant systems, remote and on-site support for technical problems, and troubleshooting of sorter performance.
- Training and knowledge sharing (10%) – Provide machine and maintenance training for customers and service personnel, while supporting the development of team members.
- Reports and documentation (5%) – Provide detailed reports after each customer visit or technical intervention.
- Continuous improvement and emergency support (5%) – Provide emergency technical telephone support, field response and contribute to ideas for process and efficiency improvements.
Qualifications :
- At least 3 years’ experience in direct customer relations in the electrical and mechanical fields.
- University or college studies in electrical or electromechanical engineering preferred, minimum technician qualifications required.
- Solid technical base, particularly in electricity (reading electrical diagrams and plans, PLC/PLC automation).
- Proficiency in computer programs and PC configuration.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and user-friendly way.
- Fluency in French and English is required.
- Adaptability and willingness to travel internationally.
- Preferably based in Montreal, Canada.
- Willingness to travel up to 80% per year (local, national and international).
- Overnight travel from Monday to Friday, depending on the assignment.
- Valid passport required.
- Ability to drive long distances with a clean driving record.
- Frequent bending, kneeling and standing.
- Lifting capacity up to 36 kg.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces.
