Entrepreneurial Development Consultant
Themission of the Corporation de développement économique et communautaire CDEC is to promote sustainable economic and social development by and for individuals, organizations, businesses and institutions within its territory. The approach is inclusive and seeks to mobilize the community around its development issues, with the aim of improving citizens’ living conditions through economic development of the community, by the community.
Our offices, easily accessible by public transit, are located in the Regroupement de Lachine, an eco-energy building equipped with geothermal energy, a green roof with terrace and, among other things, an eco-district service, the fruit of our work in collaboration with our partners.
Job description:
We are looking for an Entrepreneurial Development Adviser.entrepreneurial development to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent will supports entrepreneurial aspirations through information activities aimed at the citizens of LaSalle and Lachine. By participating in public activities and mobilizing local players, you will design a program of activities specific to the CDEC or organized by our partners in LaSalle and Lachine to reach future entrepreneurs. You will then accompany interested parties in their reflections to qualify their project and help it make its way through the Montreal support ecosystem.
Responsibilities :
- Develop a program of activities to reach people interested in entrepreneurship in Lachine and LaSalle.
- Roll out activities in partnership with our community partners.
- Accompany and inform people who have expressed an interest in entrepreneurship, and qualify their project by taking into account the requirements of the target business sector.
- Collaborate with our partners in the economic and community ecosystem and refer the people we follow.
- Participate in the entrepreneurial activities of the CDEC’s economic development team.
Profile required:
- University degree in entrepreneurship, project management or related field.
- Good personal organization, autonomy and initiative.
- Excellent writing skills in French.
- Proficiency in Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Interpersonal skills :
- Active listening, empathy.
- Ability to build trust.
- Clear communication, adapted to the audience, with the ability to popularize concepts.
Teaching skills :
- Ability to explain the steps involved in setting up a business.
- Experience in running workshops or training courses.
- Ability to stimulate creativity and encourage learning.
Technical skills :
- In-depth knowledge of business plans, market research and economic models.
- Master the legal, tax and administrative aspects of entrepreneurship: legal forms, statutes, procedures.
- Knowledge of assistance and financing schemes (grants, loans, support).
- Mastery of diagnostic, planning and project monitoring tools.
Analytical and strategic skills :
- Ability to assess project feasibility.
- Strategic vision to help define long-term direction.
