The Women’s Y of Montreal, supported by its Foundation, offers services to women and girls so that they can participate fully in society and contribute according to their abilities. We also work with community players to raise awareness of issues of exclusion, social and gender inequality, and violence against women and girls, with the aim of improving practices. The FVE (Femmes vers l’emploi) program of the Women’s Y of Montreal is aimed at women seeking personal, social and professional development. The program helps women regain confidence in the future, find a job that suits them and achieve financial independence.
Job Description :
As an Employment Advisor, your mandate will be to support participants in the Femmes vers l’emploi (FVE) program in their career development and job search. You will guide them in defining their professional project, while helping them acquire the tools and skills they need to ensure their professional success and advancement in the job market.
Responsibilities :
- Facilitate group workshops for participants, linked to their personal and professional development.
- Provide individual support for participants in the FVE program, in terms of guidance, educational and vocational information, and reorientation in the job market.
- Accompany participants in external group activities such as company visits, conferences, etc.
- Ensure excellent administrative management of files.
- Enter data in Excel and open participants’ files.
- Register participants with Service Québec.
- Prepare activity reports.
- Review job search workshops and tools.
- Update administrative files used for the smooth running of the program, such as LGEStat and activity reports.
- Run information sessions.
- Participate in the participant recruitment process.
- Collaborate on the development of employability programs with members of the department.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in counselling, career development, human resources or other specialization deemed relevant and/or any other relevant experience.
- One year’s professional experience in a similar position.
- Knowledge of socio-professional integration issues.
- Professional experience in an intercultural environment and with women, an asset.
- Professional experience in group facilitation is an asset.
- Fluency in spoken and written French.
- Fluency in English (the majority of our customers are English-speaking).
- Proficiency in MS Office suite software.
- Knowledge of Salesforce software an asset.
