We are currently looking for an Electrical Engineering and Automation Technician.

Job Description :

Reporting to the Technical and Projects Manager, the person acts as a resource person for the technical knowledge and operation of TOMRA product portfolio equipment in our Canadian markets.

She also performs tasks related to the evaluation or modification of equipment to optimize its operation (electrical, networking and control aspects), in addition to acting as technical support and trainer for the service and manufacturing teams. She is responsible for developing and drafting production and training documentation.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensure the optimization of machine systems and processes by proposing improvements.
  • Take an active part in solving technical problems and setting up and programming components on equipment.
  • Analyze system performance in terms of components and make the necessary adjustments.
  • Coach service teams on standards and procedures for operations, calibration and maintenance.
  • Understand customer needs and work with them to ensure continuous product improvement.
  • Take charge of team and organizational learning activities related to technology.
  • Take charge of production and training documentation.

Qualifications :

  • College diploma (DEC technique) in Electrical Engineering Technology – Programmable Electronics or related field.
  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in technical support and problem-solving.
  • Experience in continuous improvement.
  • Experience in a similar role (an asset).
  • Practical computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Schneider and Allen Bradley PLCs.
  • Strong analytical skills, orientation towards continuous improvement and implementation of procedures.
