The Ecomuseum Zoo is an educational animal park dedicated to the conservation of the flora and fauna of the St. Lawrence Valley. We welcome injured, orphaned and professionally cared-for ambassador animals, representing over 115 native species. Our mission is based on education, applied research and biodiversity awareness.
Job Description :
Reporting to the General Manager, the Chief Accountant is responsible for the accounting and financial management of the organization. You will play a key role in monitoring operations, producing financial statements and coordinating the budget and annual audit processes.
Responsibilities :
- Manage the full cycle of accounting operations (invoicing, accounts receivable and payable, bank deposits, collections).
- Prepare and validate financial transactions in computerized systems (general ledger, fixed assets, depreciation).
- Perform monthly reconciliations and produce interim financial statements.
- Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial analyses.
- Coordinate the annual audit and contribute to budget forecasts.
- Produce government reports (GST/QST, T3010, etc.).
- Supervise the accounting clerk and provide administrative support to the team.
- Maintain data in systems and manage certain purchases (materials, equipment).
Profile required:
- Degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Fluently bilingual (French and English), excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access).
- Knowledge of QuickBooks: an asset.
- Experience in a not-for-profit organization: an advantage.
- Legal status to work in Canada (citizen, permanent resident or refugee).
- Thoroughness, organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage several priorities simultaneously.

- Ability to work as part of a team and build strong professional relationships.
