Women’s Support Worker

Le Parados is a support and shelter organization for abused women and their children located in Lachine.

The organization provides a warm and safe living environment as well as specialized external services for women and children affected by violence. Its work is guided by values of respect, solidarity, and empowerment.

Job description :

The Women’s Support Worker provides psychosocial services to women affected by violence. The role includes individual and group interventions on a short- or medium-term basis to support women in regaining control over their lives following experiences of violence.

The position promotes autonomy and supports women in achieving their life goals.

Specific Working Conditions

Full-time position
35 hours per week
Day schedule, Monday to Friday
On-site work
Start date: August 17, 2026
Interviews scheduled for August 12, 2026
Contract or permanent position

Responsibilities :

Provide psychosocial support and follow-up services to women affected by violence.
Assess situations, needs, and risk factors.
Ensure safety and confidentiality.
Support women in their personal and psychosocial processes.
Provide information, awareness, and referrals to appropriate resources.
Intervene in crisis situations when required.
Contribute to team activities.
Collaborate with partners and community stakeholders.

Candidate profile :

Minimum of 5 years of intervention experience with women affected by violence.
Strong knowledge of domestic violence issues.
Commitment to feminist, intersectional, and intercultural approaches.
Commitment to the organization’s values.
Knowledge of Quebec immigration processes, immigration statuses, and available resources.
Group facilitation experience.
Fluency in French.
Conversational English required.
A third language is considered an asset.
Interest in community work and collaborative partnerships.
Access to a vehicle is considered a strong asset.
Valid driver’s licence.
College diploma or higher in a related field.
