Le Parados is a support and shelter organization located in Lachine whose mission is to welcome and house women affected by domestic violence and their children. The organization provides a safe environment and support services tailored to its clientele.

Job description :

The Domestic Violence Support Worker provides intervention services to women affected by domestic violence and their children within a shelter and support environment.

The position includes individual and group interventions, client assessment, telephone support, and crisis intervention.

Specific Working Conditions

On-call position
Possibility of working between 8 and 35 hours per week
On-site work
Day, evening, and night shifts
Weekend availability required
$25 night shift premium
Start date as soon as possible
Casual or temporary employment

Responsibilities :

Provide individual interventions.
Facilitate group interventions.
Offer telephone support services.
Assess client needs.
Complete client intake and shelter admissions.
Respond to crisis situations.
Raise awareness regarding domestic violence issues.

Candidate profile :

Knowledge of domestic violence issues.
Interest in community-based work.
Knowledge of related social issues considered an asset.
Availability for day, evening, night, and weekend shifts.
Fluency in French.
Conversational English.
College diploma or higher in a related field.

Salary between $22.67 and $34.38 per hour or more according to the applicable salary policy.
