Job description :

Reporting to the Section Head, the Technician plays a key role in enforcing municipal and provincial regulations while supporting citizens with their projects. The role combines technical analysis, inspections and customer service.

Responsibilities :
  • Advise citizens on urban planning and environmental regulations
  • Analyze and process permit and certificate applications
  • Conduct inspections and follow up on files
  • Issue notices and statements of offense
  • Prepare files for municipal court and attend when required
  • Handle complaints and requests
  • Review urban planning advisory committee files
  • Ensure compliance with municipal and provincial regulations
  • Contribute to regulatory updates and improvements
  • Monitor territory compliance
  • Support management and leadership
Candidate profile :
  • College diploma in urban planning or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of urban planning laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations
  • Understanding of municipal administration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
  • GIS knowledge (asset)
  • Construction safety certification (ASP or APSAM)
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 5)
  • Strong French and English communication skills
  • Analytical thinking and sound judgment
  • Strong organization and autonomy
