Intern – Needs Assessment Researcher

The Legacy Fund for the Environment is dedicated to protecting nature by preserving biodiversity and addressing climate change. The organization supports citizen‑led environmental legal actions and empowers the public through education and awareness of environmental laws and legal remedies.

Job description :

As a Needs Assessment Research Intern, you will support a project aimed at evaluating client needs, satisfaction and expectations across Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. The goal is to produce a report for the Board of Directors to improve organizational processes and strengthen future initiatives.

Specific Working Conditions:

  • Paid internship
  • Compensation: $20/hour
  • Schedule: 30 hours/week
  • Duration: May 25 to July 24, 2026
  • Primarily remote work
  • 1–2 field visits (2–3 in‑person interviews)

 

Responsibilities :
  • Organize and conduct semi‑structured interviews (online, phone and in person)
  • Assess client needs, experiences and satisfaction
  • Accurately record and manage data while ensuring confidentiality
  • Follow interview protocols to ensure neutrality and consistency
  • Track weekly progress and report key findings to supervisors
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of evaluation practices
Candidate profile :
  • Student or graduate in environment, communications, sociology, management or related field
  • Strong command of French and English
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Knowledge of qualitative research methods and thematic analysis
  • Experience in report writing and outreach (phone/email)
  • Experience designing or conducting surveys (priority)
  • Organized, motivated and comfortable working remotely
  • Driver’s license (asset)

  • Aged 15–30 at the start of employment
  • Valid Social Insurance Number
  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee
  • Not concurrently employed under another Canada Summer Jobs placement
