Industrial Development Commissioner

PME MTL West Island is an economic development organization supporting industrial, manufacturing and commercial businesses within its territory. Through financing, advisory services and strategic support, the organization actively contributes to business growth, innovation and sustainability.

Job description :

Reporting to the Director of Financing, the Industrial Development Commissioner plans and implements initiatives that support the growth and expansion of industrial and manufacturing businesses in the West Island territory. The role involves close collaboration with internal professionals to deliver strategic and tailored business support.

Specific Working Conditions:

  • Permanent full‑time position (35 hours/week)
  • Monday to Friday schedule
  • Hybrid work model (2 days remote / 3 days in office)
  • Frequent travel within and outside the territory
  • Salary based on experience and internal pay scale
  • Annual performance‑based bonus
Responsibilities :

Support to industrial and manufacturing companies

  • Identify and analyze the needs of companies in the territory
  • Support entrepreneurs in their business projects
  • Assist with the development of business plans and financing searches
  • Identify assistance programs and financial partners
  • Guide companies in dealing with government and municipal authorities
  • Promote the integration of ESG criteria into operations
  • Refer companies to appropriate partners

Business relations and ecosystem engagement

  • Visit companies to present PME MTL services
  • Maintain regular follow-ups with companies in the territory
  • Participate in economic ecosystem activities with partners

Planning, administration, and business relations

  • Contribute to the development strategy and annual action plan
  • Produce activity reports in the Salesforce CRM
  • Maintain close relationships with the internal team and partners
  • Participate in organizing networking events
  • Represent the organization at external activities
Candidate profile :
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or management
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial/manufacturing experience
  • Experience in business management
  • Knowledge of SME financing and financial accounting
  • Excellent command of French (spoken and written)
  • Strong computer skills (Office Suite, Windows environment)
  • Autonomous, flexible and well organized
  • Ability to travel for on‑site meetings
